Perceptive eClinical and Trialzen launch Perceptive Clinical Intelligence
I’m just back from GCSG in San Diego, and almost every conversation came back to the same idea: clinical supply is overdue for smarter, data-driven decision-making — and sponsors are ready for it. That’s exactly the gap our new alliance with Perceptive eClinical is built to close.
On 27 April, Perceptive eClinical and Trialzen announced an alliance to support the launch of Perceptive Clinical Intelligence, a new technology-enabled clinical supply consultancy service.
Why this matters
Industry benchmarks show that approximately 50% of Clinical Finished Goods (CFG) manufactured for clinical trials are never administered to patients — representing hundreds of millions of dollars in wasted drug supply each year. Behind that number sit much harder questions: are sites operating with confidence, are visits happening on time, are patients getting their treatment when they need it?
Perceptive Clinical Intelligence is built to answer those questions in one connected environment. It combines Perceptive eClinical’s 30 years of expertise in randomization and clinical supply optimization — delivered by their in-house specialists and integrated into their next-generation IRT platform, Clinphone Pro — with Trialzen’s advanced mathematical optimization, simulation and forecasting engine, the modelling layer that lets sponsors stress-test scenarios before committing to a supply strategy.
The result is an expert-led, technology-enabled service that spans the entire clinical trial lifecycle — from early supply planning through mid-study forecast adjustments, with the same data and the same assumptions feeding both the strategy conversation and the day-to-day execution.
Why we said yes
Trialzen was built by clinical supply experts who spent years watching planning decisions get made on spreadsheets and gut feel, then handed off to execution systems with no feedback loop. This collaboration with Perceptive closes that gap. By integrating our forecasting and simulation capabilities directly with their IRT platform, we enable sponsors to move from scenario planning to operational action in a single environment, with full transparency at every step.
Our SVP Strategy, Tony Street, put it this way in the announcement: “Together, Perceptive and Trialzen are working toward a unified way of operating, where strategic decisions and day-to-day execution come together, enabling greater visibility, smarter scenarios, and more confident supply decisions from manufacturing through to patient dosing.”
What sponsors can expect
Faster study start-up and smoother amendments through early supply optimization. Higher quality supply decisions driven by expert oversight and data-backed insight. Greater confidence on complex trials through strategic expert consultancy. Mid-study forecast adjustments with up-to-date quantitative support for key decisions.
The consultancy is anchored in deep oncology expertise, where global scale and complex dosing make planning especially risky, and also draws on experience across endocrinology and metabolism, infectious diseases, and emerging areas including precision and nuclear medicine and cell and gene therapies.
Coming up
We’re already in conversations with a number of sponsors who saw the announcement at GCSG San Diego. If you’d like to talk about how Perceptive Clinical Intelligence could fit your trial, get in touch with Tony Street or Nick M Evans on the Trialzen team — or use our contact page.
